This is my morning. Sacrificed a $0.39 PVC elbow (probably more like $0.89 now) to protect a $12 hose bib. Remove the cap at the top, unscrew the failed PVC elbow, screw on a new one, screw the hose bib back in. 2 minute fix.

Once things defrost.

I was wondering how you were doing with your cold spell. While I would LOVE to have your 20 degrees, out on the plains, they'd love to have my single digits above zero.

I didn't comment earlier, but my eldest momma goat kidded last weekend when it got (for us) bitterly cold overn night. She was in no distress when we went to bed - didn't even look like labor had started. Lost all four kids.

Her daughter (one of them) is kidding today. First time. Cross fingers, its again sub freezing, and I can do absolutely nothing to assist. There is no vet, and I *HAVE* to work, w/o exception. She also is in no distress. Her water bag is just starting to show, but she's still eating, so labor hasn't started in earnest.

We were just talking at home about how glad we are that we weren't lambing. The -30 days for us were right around when we used to have everyone lambing

Oh, my. Sending all the positive waves, thoughts, fingers crossed, etc. I can. I don't know what good that does; makes me feel better, I suppose, which does nothing for your goat. I'm going to do it anyway.

It is suppose to warm to about 51 f today and hover above freezing here tonight. Then back to freezing for the weekend. Long range temps are suppose to warm drastically. I would think yours are similar? Light at the end of the tunnel?

One, and only one. Momma wasn't feeling like a photo. Yes, baby goat is smaller than one of my roosters, that's not (just) forced perspective. Momma is pretty small too, she's a mutt - but a much more reasonable size for my wife and I.
