Already showing a fondness for the pasture... Not least because the larger roosters are pushing them away from the chicken feed, and a goat near stepped on one.

Not available for purchase currently . Going to get a fox trap or two, see what happens.

Will decide later, after the remaining three have had some time (and are potentially put to use), since I understand they have difficulty breeding unless kept on restricted feed.

Also, one of the three that remain may have a wing condition - its not outswept, but there is pronounced separation of the feathers when the wings are ****ed against the body.

I just set a trap in my garden to catch whatever is mowing down some of my plants! I think I see damage from two different animals.

A deer could be reaching over the fence and lopping off the sunflowers. It's not getting inside the fence, because I don't see hoof prints.

I don't see prints from anything. I see 1" nubs of bean plants that had been 3" tall the day before. I see stalks that had been nice kale plants.

I suspect a baby wood chuck tunneling in... maybe? I'll be buying a cantaloupe this week for bait. I've caught a wood chuck with peanut butter, but I know they really like melon.
