Last time I had to move bunnies around cages, I looked like I had taped a cat to each arm, and a few more to my chest, then took a shower.

Claws??? what claws... :(
Yes, rabbit claws can hurt!

Back when I had rabbits for meat, people would ask "how can you eat those cute bunnies?" I would sometimes answer by picking one up, letting it rake claws down my arm, then displaying the bloody scratches. I don't think anyone asked me a second time :lol:

The situation may improve a little as you get more practice in handling rabbits. A rabbit that thinks it is falling will try to hang on with its claws. A rabbit that thinks it might be able to get away may try to scramble free. A rabbit that is held in a position where it feels secure is less likely to scratch. Of course, "less likely to scratch" is not at all the same as "will not scratch."
