Stormcrow's Hobby Farm

Sounds to me like you need to schedule a day off.
Someone just told me this very thing. I'm trying to figure out when???

All work and no play made Jack a very dull boy.
Sleep is on the menu, too. Stayed up WAY WAY WAY too late last night. Also, a nice dinner. Part of why I'm going shopping today.

I finished off my batch of toum today. I have found that it is fantastic on things like fried rice or potatoes. But my favorite way to eat it is on a spoon. :drool

This batch was different from the ones I made last year, even using the same recipe. The first two days, it had a strong bite, but then mellowed out a bit.

Other garlic news... I planted my usual, Music, and a new-to-me variety, Metechi. Metechi was listed as a hotter variety with more bite, but that it mellowed when it was cooked. I don't know if it's my taste buds or my soil, but I can't tell the difference between the two. The cloves are much smaller, but that's the only real difference I've noticed.

I prefer it after it has a chance to round out/mellow a bit.

Also, last drawer is in, last pull out installed. :) We have a working kitchen and I have an office desk again. And the stain sort of matches what was on here before!

Back from the grocery, was going to roll some sushi. Out of tuna steaks. :(

Smoking some other tuna (already in the brine) to make smoked fish dip for bagels. Focaccia is on first rise for party bread (basically focaccia + cubes of smoked ham, pepperoni, cheese, other "stuff" [in this case, seeded diced tomato, finely diced banana peppers, black olives) and a bit of fresh cracked pepper.

...and I think I remember where I stashed more frozen sashimi-grade tuna.

That will make my wife happy. Fortuna favor my search! (then knife work, so so so much knife work).

Success!!!

Tuna tataki, tuna rolls, Kalifornia roll, spicy Krab rolls, tuna & avocado roll, maybe tuna poke. Wish we could get sushi grade salmon and unagi (bar b q eel) without having to put in a massive order and getting it shipped.

[Yes, sale on tuna at the grocery store - a very good sale]

I love all kinds of seafood but you can keep the eel.
I've caught enough eel in my life, don't think I would be putting one on my plate. I do eat oysters though raw or otherwise.

Wonder what the first human thought when considering eating eel and oysters? Must have been very hungry.
