Story Away!

Haven't tried the stuff I picked up yet as so far no more sign of pecking....least for Mouse being picked on, etc. Though Toodles is still bald from Fancy Pants & his "attention" shall we say. I hate to isolate her...she doesn't do well alone. I'll have to snag her soon & try some of the stuff I picked up. Plus, I don't think she's eating the oyster shell or absorbing enough calcium. Thinking I'm going to start saving egg shells. I noticed her eating part of a shell from a broken egg that my chiweenie (Piglet) helped to clean up...least I'm pretty certain it was her & not the chi (Indy).

However, I do have a little problem that needs solving................

Seems Indy doesn't want to go outside to go potty without an escort. Why? Penguin, my black cockerel cochin, is picking on him. Penguin is now taller than Indy. I'm not sure if it's part of the boys jostling for position, Penguin is jealous because he's not getting my attention, or what. Whatever the reason, it's got to stop. Seems I trained my dogs too well....they've been taught that the chickens are babies & to be gentle with them...not to use their mouths, paws, or play, etc. So now, Penguin pecks & him so all Indy does is try to get away. Those little legs can't get too far that fast. Any ideas?
i wish i could help, but i can't. try spraying him in the face with ACV and water. also try carrying him (when i say "him" i mean Penguin) around a lot.

Who's Pine?
Pine is my mean cock. he bullied most of my roos into hiding. my little darling Hats got a bald spot from him. now i sold him to a safe, good home. the person said they would never kill/eat him.
(bye bye Pine!)
i can't wait to see that bald spot on Hats melt away, and the roos come out of hiding.

Have to pick up a little spray bottle. So far my being near Indy & shooing off helps. I suspect few others are starting. I know Marshmallow has an issue with Indy due to his getting in the coop around the time she was laying....she's the crabby one though. She only goes to peck his butt when he gets close to the coop.

Wish my phone wasn't charging. Freakin Ducky (white cochin cockerel) was, um how to say this nicely, "giving attention" to a small stuffed rabbit dog toy. Seriously, like it was a hen!

May have a 'solution' to too many boys....stuffed animals!

So long Pine! Yay for the others!!!! I'm sure Hats' crest will start reviving itself quickly now.

It's been a crazy week. Seems the teenagers aren't too happy about it. The ones that were doing so nicely going to bed themselves have stopped. Most every time I step outside Freddie is flying up to land where ever he can on me. lol That, or sneaking into the house. Little stinker. I thought I had 2 more people interested in the babies, but zilch. So, I definitely need to redo the ad. No response to the ad for the boys.

Hope you guys' week has been better.

OK...so Eaglet, bantam brahma light I think, has once again escaped their room...aka crate. i can't get the little bugger back in! what's worse...she can reach the water dish from the outside, which is good, but doesn't help! food wise they've kicked a good bit out of the crate again so she has a bunch to herself! smart, but ugh...i keep chasing her around, open the door & she goes the other way. i don't think she wants to go back in.............

I'm so sorry. It's hard, but you did the best you could for her. Your other baby will reappear. My Dad had one disappear with no trace & 6months or so later a neighbor said they found her in the greenbelt behind their house!
