Story Away!

I'm really liking them, but I want my rainbow yard of chickens. So...various breeds & colors. I don't mind same color in different breeds...hence keep a self-blue cochin & a white crested blue polish. Especially since it's looking as the polish will be that light, almost steely blue color.

I'm thinking of the gold laced too...I'm curious how it'll turn out with the brown tone to it & the white on the head if it's really a lace or not.

my coop is to small cant fit no more i already have 18 chickens
that does kinda stop things. I let mine roam the yard...so the coop is bed. I'll have to assess space once everyone is in the main coop. I do use dog crates with tarps/boards over/around them to block rain, etc. as temporary coops. I just stick branches thru for roosting bars. That's what I'm doing with the 2month olds right now until I get roosting bars up in the main coop for everyone. I'm probably going to have to expand before there are too many more. Thankfully, the bantams take less room...so I can kinda cheat on how many I have. lol

I'll share mine via pics & stories so you can kinda have more that way.

So long as they're protected, it's all good. My "coop" is actually one of those rubbermaid shed things that's about 4'x5' (roughly, maybe bigger...I forget the exact size) with the front half of the roof missing & the doors not able to be put on cause they're broke. So, it's tarps with cinder blocks, the doors, & chunks of granite holding the tarp in place. The roosting area is a topless box that's inside that they roost on. The nest box isn't finished that's sitting on cinder blocks setting up to/in a hole we cut in the shed thing. The shed is also on blocks to help when the monsoons come. I'll get you a pic too. So, I'm sure yours is fine. We can't all have the super fancy coops some people can.
