Strange Behavior

My chickens huddle too. When they were younger they would huddle in the corner of the coop, now they huddle on the roosts.

My chicks/hens finally figured out what the roost is for. Now they are trying to roost on the nest boxes.... hubby made the boxes with a 45 angle on it so they couldn't roost on there....they figured a way to roost there anyway. :/

Close off the nesting boxes during the night. Open them back up in the morning if they are close to laying age. Good luck.

I had burlap bags covering the openings for privacy when laying the eggs, apparently they were able to get on the boxes with the bags covering the openings. I removed the burlap bags yesterday... Now they (at least 2) are using the nest boxes.
