Strange Black Dots Please Help

We got a chick from the feed store in the Spring, and we have no idea what kind of chicken he is, and about a week ago these black spots started showing up on his crown. I've never had chickens before so I just thought it was part of him growing up. But now I'm getting a little worried because one of my black copper maran hens is getting them too. They don't move like mites, and I've searched the internet without any luck finding anwsers. I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out. I can try to get better pictures of him if anone needs to see the details. Thank you

Warty Growths on Comb
The appearance of warty growths or sores on the fleshy parts of a chicken's head is not usually a health risk that the producer should be concerned with. These lesions are produced as the bird's response to fowl pox virus injected by a mosquito. The condition appears more serious than it actually is. A scab forms as the bird develops a resistance to the viral disease organism. The bird will not usually show other effects to the disease and will recover within a short time unless complications arise.

But there never was any white spots, that I noticed. I might have just missed them though, I don't know. I have 2 pekin ducks in the coop/run
with them, the websites don't mention if it can harm them. Should I move them to my other run? And is this spreadable to people or dogs either through the eggs or an other way? Sorry with all these diseases out there now, I'm freakin a little bit, would vitamins or elctolites in their water help them any? Thanks for your time

Those are just peck marks. Pox would be raised white bumps that go into scabs. His are just caused by another chicken pecking at him or him hitting his comb against things. Nothing to worry about...will go away on its own...
