Strange deaths

So paralysis ticks are a type of tick? Looks like I have an excuse to get guineas ;)
That type is not is the U.S. ...Australia that I'm aware of..
Here lime disease comes from Ticks...I don't have them Here...

A nercropsy will tell you why the chicken died. If at all possible, have this done.

Yes, I agree, abrupt temperature changes can make a chicken sick. It behooves us to watch the forecast and mediate by getting them sheltered to protect our flock when you expect the weather to take a severe change of course.

However, you shouldn't just assume this was the cause of sickness and death. You need to investigate where your chickens have been ranging to be sure they haven't been exposed to some sort of toxin.

Look at compost piles for soggy, putrid, anaerobic conditions. Look at your grounds for machinery leaking toxic fluids onto the soil. Look for peeling paint on old siding. Examine your feed for mold. Are there any polluted puddles the chickens drink from? Has there been any topsoil imported from outside your immediate neighborhood that the chickens have been digging in?

As a precaution, I would treat the flock with amprolium to counter any coccidia bloom, just to be safe.

I agree about having necropsies done; we are just speculating here.
Do look at the birds at night, with a flashlight, for external parasites, and treat them if any are found. Look at their environment for toxins or 'bad stuff', at the feed.
Sorry for your losses,
Mary
