Strange!!! Did my rooster lay this egg?

This tops high on my list of strangest things I've ever seen... I came upon what I thought was a deflated water balloon on my back deck...and no idea where it came from... Nope, it has a yoke inside! My hens are all in the coop! The only chicken loose is the rooster! Is Zorro half Zoey?

well there are no other chickens loose around here... my horses dogs and cat don't lay eggs.

Roosters are NOT able to lay eggs, have you ever let your hens outside.

Ok...No my girls didn't do it. Only thing I can think is maybe a large owl. No other chickens loose.

No it's not an owl egg. It's a chicken egg. One of your female chickens laid it.
You better lay off the treats if you feed any and double check your feed to make sure it is a layer type feed.

I agree with the others, your male did not lay the egg. If you have let your females out in the past few days, one probably layed it and something may have moved it to where you found it. If any of your neighbors have birds, one may have layed it and again it somehow got moved to where you found it. Every once in a very very great while I may get an odd egg. It happens to everyone who owns chickens at one time or another. Good luck...
