Omg.There was a thread about a rooster, a definite crowing rooster with the hackle and saddle feathers, who changed sex and began laying eggs. So it isn’t completely out of the realm of possibility.....
Keep us updated!
Just because your chickens have not laid an egg like this before does not mean they won't lay an egg like this.Ok well it wasn't from my hens because they are cooped and they do eat layer feed. None of them have ever laid an egg without a shell. I get a softer shell on occasion but never anything like this. I wouldn't join a public forum and look the fool if I had an answer.
If you don't know then we won't know.Ok well it wasn't from my hens because they are cooped and they do eat layer feed. None of them have ever laid an egg without a shell. But we do know the rooster did not lay it.If you don't know then we won't know.
No one will ever know. It'll be a huge mystery for ever.
True fact. Or maybe the roosters just a manly hen. Still mystery. But we do know the rooster did not lay it.
All of my laying hens ( that's all I have is laying hens) have spurs.Thank you all for your kind and thoughtful comments!I do have trailcams but not facing where the egg was found. I had read a bit about odd instances of gender confusion and have seen the hens act like roosters on occasion. No crowing or attacking anyone but one has spurs. My roo crows,, has spurs and is a jerk which is why he isn't in the coop...cant have him attacking me when I'm trying to feed them..... with all the chemicals, hormones etc. they use these days nothing kooky would surprise me. Just wondered if anyone else experienced similar. I think the alien chicken is the best answer lol
