Hi!
One of my hens started laying yesterday, and my other three are really close to laying, but this morning, as I checked for more eggs (there haven't been any so far this morning), I saw a small puddle of yellowish liquid; it looked a bit like pee (picture at the bottom). Does this have to do with laying eggs, or is it something else? Should I be worried about it?
Thanks!

They will eat the shell and everything, you just have the remnants of yoke. Mine girls only eat the egg if one falls or cracks. It could've also been a soft shelled egg. Can you inspect the left overs?

Are you eating the eggs? Or are they a byproduct of having birds? (Personally my family won't eat our eggs. My dad prefers store ones and the rest of us just don't eat eggs) if you don't eat them, you can feed the eggs back to them for better nutrients

We've only had one egg layed so far (that we saw), and we ate it, and we'll be eating future eggs.

I looked, but it seems to have soaked in to the hay or something. I didn't see bits of shell or anything.
