Strange egg color?

Look up welbar breed. I have 3. Not an expert on all the various breeds, but fairly certain u have a welbar pullet. My local tractor supply had them this summer.

Welbars have yellow legs. OP's chicken has slate.

Definitely a hen. She is pretty!
Looks like she has white earlobes. Hard to tell. She may be a brown leghorn, white eggs from her!
Welsummer have red earlobes and lay the darker brown eggs,

Your newly identified hen looks like a welbar. (Sounds like a mix, but is actually a very old pure breed. Welbars lay dark brown eggs!

I searched then up and the feathers on her back do look more like a welbar than a brown leghorn, can welbars have white feet though?

Hmm yes u r right @black_cat i noticed what looks like faint barring but didnt notice the slate legs. So never mind me!

Definitely looks like it, maybe a mix still though because it seems leghorns have yellow feet while she has white feet.

Mostly likely it's coming from here since there only 2 hens in question. That's always good news having pullets.

Most likely thats the case since I have gotten both suggestions quite frequently since she was younger and she definitely looks like a good mix of the two! Thanks so much, I think this mystery case has officially come to a close!
