Strange JG eggs

So my splash Jersey Giant hatched from an egg like this.

What i find weird is that she lays eggs like this. Is it possible that they’re like this because she’s a cross or something? Or is this a health problem? Thanks

Not a health problem do you know for sure who the sire was? It's very likely she's a mix. Do you have pictures of her and if possible the dam and sire?

Ah good to know, thanks. And no idea unfortunately! I didn’t really have a clue back then so I just researched some breeds, found JG’s and ordered some eggs from ebay.

Those speckled eggs she lays are way more beautiful than the egg she hatched from in my opinion and definitely not something to worry about health wise as others have said.
It sounds like she may not be pure since she hatched from eggs you bought online. I'm not familiar with the breed but I am sure if you post photos there will be some people who will be able to spot rogue features if she is mixed.

I remember their being pictures of adults splash cocks & hens, so they probably were her parents.

I don't know about the splash thing, if there is some other breed crossed in back there somewhere....but she sure it pretty!!
