Hey all,

I got a strange egg today from one of my chickens. She’s a two year old isa brown (or that’s what I was told). She normally lays very big dark brown eggs. Her feathers have been a little “molt-ish lately”, wondering if this could be a disease, calcium deficiency or what?

I looked at the egg guide and was unsure if it matched any/am looking for feedback. There is also a tiny hole in the egg, possibly from the other chickens.

Extra info: it’s been about 90 degrees average this week, thought that might be important info but not sure.

Any and all advice is appreciated!
Thanks so much!

At two years of age ISA Browns are reaching their EOL time. As such you can expect misshaped eggs more often.

I agree 2 years is actually old for a isa brown they only live 2-3 years although some people have had them live 5-8 years. The short life is because of the increased egg production causing them to be over run. She will probably be coming to end of lay
