Strange lump under Rooster's beak

Hi, I am new to chickens and very happy and thankful to be here.

My Araucana roo about 8 months old has one wattle thicker as the other one and a strange Lump under his beak. Also on the left side something like wart on the lower beak and a yellow dot on the face. I got him 6 weeks ago and when I see the pics, he's got the same stuff, just the yellow thing was white and smaller.

He eats good, he is wonderful to his hens, he mates, he cares for them, etc. But when I checked this areas he closes his eyes, like it was sensitive or so, no open wounds, his comb is a bit black because of injury trying to escape the chicken fence (on weekends we put him aside for a few hours so that neighbors will not hear his crowing that much).

His 3 girls are all lying and healthy and got nothing on wattles, beak of face.
He's gotten bigger in 6 weeks and so the lumps. Does anyone know if this is a kind of wart inside and on the beak or an internal abscess or is that normal???

Comments are much appreciated.

Thank you for answering. I talked this to a farmer who also has chickens, he does that semi-professionally

. He thinks that could be a tumor and he advised me to cull him ASAP :(:hit:hit:hit
Here a pic I took yesterday. We used a very very lose crowing collar for three weeks, that we took off at night, but when I see the photos when he arrived (6 weeks ago), he already had the lumps, only smaller.

I think I'll give him a week, check him regularly, give lots of garlic, etc. What else can I do? My vet has no clue about chickens.

Is this the "wart like thing"? What does the inside of the beak look like-does that extend inside the beak or does he have any yellow plaques or lesions?

It could be from injury fighting, it's hard to know, some chickens get canker in the mouth, but that does not look like canker to me. He's bright eyed. The yellow on the face, to me is his coloring.

I'm not sure if I see a lump under the beak/throat? Could be just the way he is made, but keep watch on it. More answers, suggestions will come dependent on your answer of what the inside of the beak is like.

The farmer that you talked with, did he physically examine this cockerel, look at photos or just go by your description? What disease did he name that would warrant the bird to be put down?

Now I see it @Wyorp Rock , thanks. :thumbsup
I had to look! I still don't see a tumor under the neck though:confused:

Oh! @Liz7 you mentioned that he closes his eyes when you examine touch the face, maybe he is sensitive? It could be, but birds close their eyes when you handle their face/combs/wattles most of the time unless they are really used to you doing so. It would be hard to know if it's painful or not.

I had thought one wattle was swollen. I definitely don't see anything to cull him for. He looks pretty healthy to me with his bright red comb and wattles and clean look face. Looks much better than my roosters currently.

Thank you guys for answering, you're awesome :)

You are right, the yellow on the face is his normal coloring. Thank God!

The farmer just saw the pictures you saw. He said, only a vet could tell what the roo has, but it's got something that is not normal.

We did use a DIY No Crow Collar, very very lose for about three weeks, on and off. I took it off completely two days ago. But if that was the cause of the inflammation, why is it getting worse? the lump under the beak was more round and two days latter it's more irregular, while the think wattle has gotten bigger:hit

The roo also has a sound like he had a flue or saw, a bit. I gave him tee.

Inside his beak looks normal compared with what I see on internet. The photo here is on the side of the wart, it had a cap and I took it off, bled a tiny bit.

There is new a small black spot in his comb, that made me worried... 32116699_10160247089905231_6872114902446637056_n.jpg 32081599_10160247060105231_906681417390358528_n.jpg 32077708_10160247063480231_3054429274598539264_n.jpg

I just took these pics and quarantine him in the bathroom. Could this be a slow form of fowl pox or a resilient case? the people we bought him from said they didn't want to have any more chickens, only ducks...I wonder why now :hmm

I know, I cried so much today, I just can't deny the growing lumps and the wart and that it might become something painful and awful. His eyes are so bright:love:love:love
