One of my Buff Orpingtons has laid a couple of eggs where there are strange particles that look like sand? seeds? dirt? inside the yolk and egg white. She has been only laying eggs for a couple of weeks now and her eggs are still small. I have four other hens who are laying eggs and there has been no problem with the yolks or whites. They are all organic and free ranging hens. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? It didn't look like blood. Sorry I don't have any pics to post. I may take some if I encounter another egg with this material in it. Anyone else have this experience?
I hope I am posting this in the right topic.
Thanks in advance for any comments.

It is called meat specks, they r fine to eat, pick them out if you wish the egg is fine. It happens when little pieces of the ovaries or what not fall off the tract. Someone here will be able to explain it more eloquently I am sure, LOL.

thank you both for the responses.
I love this forum! There are so many knowledgeable and well experienced folks on here.
I am learning so much!
