strange Silkie behavior

My Silkie is acting different. I am pretty sure now that my black Silkie is a Roo. Anyway he has been opening and closing his mouth while stretching his neck. He is a very quiet bird and rarely makes a sound. He almost looks like he is clearing his throat. I am wondering if there could be something wrong.

The other behavior he is doing is standing on one foot a lot. He almost appears to be limping. I looked at his feet. They are clean. He does have a lot of feathers on his feet. I am wondering if this is making it harder for him to walk. If some Silkie owners could respond that would be helpful. Does anyone ever trim the feathers on the feet?

He just seems different. Doesn't seem to be following the flock as much. They are no longer sleeping with him either. They are roosting and he is left on the ground. My other Silkie roosts too, but she has no feathers on her feet.

Some advice on Silkies would be helpful. I love him and he is the sweetest bird.
