I moved the 5 hatchlings into the brooder because they were getting really active and knocking the unhatched eggs around. Every once in a while I think I hear chirps from the incubator but no visible pips at this time.

All of the ones that hatched came out with black feathers. I don’t see any definite straight combs I believe they are all some sort of pea or modified pea comb. All look like they have lightly feathered shanks some extend all the way down to the toe some look to have clean toes. They all seem healthy and can walk around no splayed legs or curled toes

I did have one more hatch for a total of 6. There are still 5 eggs I. The incubator but I’m not sure about their viability the shells are so dark I didn’t get a clear view at lockdown. I’ll keep an listening for another day or so and candle again if I don’t hear and chirping

I took all 6 of the hatchlings out to introduce them to Smoky. She snatched them up and tucked them underneath her to keep them warm and safe.

Was she flinging a chick around in the beginning? The video was blurry on my end but it cleared up towards the end, so it might have been my phone.

Originally it did say hanging. It was a swipe keyboard error. You must have been really quick to see it before the edit because I corrected it pretty fast. I always proofread after hitting the post button
