"But...I have no mother." she stated. "She was hit by a big shiny red thing."

"Aw, are they falling for one another?" Maiya said, looking keenly interested in Honey and Steal.
"Whatever, just take your abnormally long ears out of their business and let's go back and find Echo," Mira said rather crossly, and stalked off, her long tail waving back and forth. Maiya shrugged and followed.

Sawdust was running freely. He begin to cross the street. A car that was speeding came just then. Sawdust ducked, luckily he was under the car, and not the wheel. He was a bit startled but continued to cross the street.

Suddenly, Mira saw a small white mouse dart past her. She gave chase, and pounced right around the corner. She walked back to where Maiya was with her catch in her jaws.
Echo woke up with a start, to hear the shrill scream of... was it Maiya? Echo immediately raced towards the scream, ducked under a bicycle, in between two trash cans and - saw Maiya shrieking at a small white mouse Mira was carrying. "Ohmigosh that's disgusting! Eww, Mira!" Maiya yowled, backing away from her sister.
Mira rolled her eyes and nodded to Echo. "I caught a mouse and Maiya freaked out," she explained through her mouse.

"Well, now that we're all awake, say we keep hunting?" Echo suggested, eyeing the darkening sky.
"Ew! I am not, I repeat not, going to live killing rats and crows," Maiya mewed. "I'm going back to where our human dropped us off."
Mira rolled her eyes again. "Maiya, are you crazy? We're dumped. Dumped. Those dumb humans aren't going to pick us up again." Mira climbed up a tree swiftly. "Who needs them anyway? You know I've been trying to escape for, like, ever." She skillfully jumped into the next tree and pounced on a squirrel heading back into its nest. "I think I'll enjoy being a stray cat." Maiya sighed, and climbed up next to Mira. "If you say so."

Red shook herself as she hit the concrete next to the road. The kitty mill people had dumped her along with Charcoal, Tiger, and Couger. She looked up and saw Mira and Echo.

Tiger hissed meanfully as the car drove away. Couger nursed a cut she had recieved on her side.
