Lol Kernel! Bagged yourself a doe!

So. Miss Gretel. She is a character. I have been having a hard time making the decision to catcher her and clip her wing. Lately she meets me outside in the a.m., accompanies me down to the pen and patiently waits for me to go in and let her friends out. Then after I put their feed out I open the door and let her walk in. Haha Today she was sunning on the doorstep, inside though! And all my biddies were inside behind her. This droid is too big to fit in my pocket! I have to start making it a point to take it outside. Anywho, I figure I will clip a wing on one side. Let her get used to the coop since she gets along so well with the others. She will grow new ones after her molt so I don't have to feel guilty. She is still skittish of me and she'll flutter her wings and be GONE so quick! But all my others come jump into my lap. Honey, a red star mix breed mutt, will cuddle me. So sweet! Maybe one day Gretel will do that. Pics soon I promise!!

I found an egg in my coop today!! Had to have come from Gretel. It's hard to judge size on this pic but the egg is on the smaller size. I'm tickled to death! So cool! haha

YAY!!! Congrats on your first egg from Gretel!!! I have woods surrounding me...eight acres of my own, and every neighbor around here has 5 or more acres of trees. I have been hearing a rooster crow every day for the past month...sounds far away, but it gives me hope that I'll get lucky enough to have my own stray wander into my yard!
