Stray chicken. What do I do?, and it’s been SO hot.

You all convinced me to give her a chance. She’s ugly as sin but isn’t acting sick. I will keep her contained and feed and water her. Seeing the egg laying factory business up close makes me sick. Horrible cruelty.
I found this quote a while back on BYC.

You never know, she might be beautiful in a few weeks. I'm so excited that you are keeping her! :ya I hope you keep us posted on her progress!

Here she is. Oh my.
Poor dear has been through the ringer! She'll be beautiful with some TLC.

Oh thank goodness! Nothing but good can come of it this is a fact.
Again, not ugly don't use the "u" word.... they know! :D
You will be her first taste of human kindness, what a cool thought.

Once she realizes that you are only there to help her she will be so sweet. I have a rescue Frizzle Bantam hen from a farm I worked at last summer. When I got her she looked like an ex battery hen. She stayed inside for a week and I fell asleep on the couch with her and woke up to her snuggled up in my arms asleep.

Also my 3 rescue Bantam hens absolutely love to soak up the sunshine.

After I found her I picked her up and put her in my lap and tried to give her water. She wouldn’t have anything to do with it and sort of growled at me. I think she was terrified. I will treat her well and hopefully she will warm up to me.
