Sue looks just like my dog sam but different body color, he is a belgian shepherd cross husky. The puppy has the same back fur as my other dog, she is a blue heeler cross doberman. Great story

That's territiorial behavior.

If you think "any breed can be a rabbit dog" try hunting them with a Chihuahua, or run a Pomeranian through a brair patch

Not every small chicken is a "Bantam", and not every mutt is a true "LGD"
It doesn't mean they can't be great dogs.

German ShepHERDS were bred to HERD sheep.

LGD's are bred to GUARD livestock

Mutts are bred because people are irresponsible.

Calling a mutt an LGD doen't make it one.
They are not "guarding" instinctively. They are defending territory.

If a HOUND kills a rat, it's not a TERRIER

If a TERRIER chases a rabbit, it's still not a HOUND

If two roosters fight, they aren't magically Game Birds.

A mutt is NOT a true LGD no matter how many critters he barks at.

The term LGD has a definiton, and "yard dog" isn't one of them.​

Just because a dog is a pure breed doesn't mean it's not a rescue. There are such things as pure breed rescue organizations. Our dearly departed Riley was a rescue basset. Our current basset is not a guard dog, but his mere presence discourages some animals from coming into our yard
