So I just witnessed my hen stress poop out an egg while my 3 drakes tried to gangbang her.. the egg appears to be soft, super orange and is what can only assume to be tomorrows fresh egg. Is this normal? She is a new layer. I bought them all together march 2017, still young

Also, what are yalls thoughts on breaking up an existing flock?
I currently have 3 drakes and 2 hens, this was an accident but now im starting to think life will be better without the drakes who are getting increasingly aggressive with the girls. will the girls be upset/stressed out without the 3 pain in the ass drakes theyve grown up with?

I'm dealing with the same stuff here. I got my ducks in march as well and have had them lay soft eggs out of stress like that. I looked it up and what I read on a few pages is that when you raise ducks in the spring often times they will start laying eggs a little earlier than when they normally should. A lot of times when ducks first start laying eggs they can be deformed (soft, small, odd shaped) but that shouldn't last forever. Also, that can happen if there is something that startled them.

I have 2 males and 5 females and one of my females (Molly) keeps getting beat up and over sexed by the male pekin... I'm also wondering if I should get rid of him since I don't want ducklings anyway... I'm thinking I might try separating him for a whole to see how the other females handle that and go from there. This is my first time raising ducks so Im really just winging it.

according to what I have read, you should only have one drake for that amount of hens.
I know unfortunately they were given to me as a surprise gift from my father, both of us with zero knowledge of ducks, so ive been figuring it out as i've been going and unfortunately that's the ratio i ended up with.. trying to find otu as muc as a can to make the situation better and live-able if possible
