Stressed... I hate the effects it has on me!

I was finally cited yesterday for having chickens.
It's what I wanted so I could clear this whole thing up.
My post about the whole thing is here:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=225484

But I find today the stress is more than I thought.

I'm type 1 Diabetic and find when I have stress in my life My insulin is ineffective. (my sugars rise WAY out of control and I can not seem to get them down) I'm on the insulin Pump.

My whole body Bloats ... My fingers and toes look like little sausages, and I feel like the stay puff marshmallow man! ..lol ROASTED!

It doesn't help that somehow I bruised both the knuckles of my big toes, and they are swollen. On top of that add the neuropathy of the feet. and Crimmy!

I just needed to get that out of my system.
DEEP breath! I can do this!

I am a type II but I find that stress throws me all out of whack too. Cortisol makes blood sugar go up; stress causes a cortisol rush.

Yoga helps.

I did not know that, and I have been diabetic for years!
I just hope they set a court date quickly. then I'll not be as stressed.

I understand. Stress and Diabetes don't mix well. I'm a Type 2 and I can't stand it when my hair falls out when I'm stressed. Here's to hoping your situation is cleared up soon and in a positive way.

THANK YOU!

Just your positive vibes sent my way helps a lot. Weather you comment or not. I'm very sensitive to vibes and auras. Some do not believe, and that is fine. But they send out vibes good and bad as well.
This forum is such a wealth of information ...lol I think I'm driving my lawyer crazy ...lol But he is a good guy with a great sense of humor.

You would think people would have more important things in their lives than to complain about chickens..........

Thank you.
I'm originally from Canada .. and we are very British in our ways. We say Mum, and the kids around here Call me Mum too.
Which differentiates me from their actual mothers ...lol

You know,? they seem to be the ones that make me feel the most welcome here in the states. Other than the whole lot of you on BYC!

I'm following and cheering you on, Sister!! Don't let them intimidate you into anything!

I had a really bad situation at my former work for a big huge public entity a few years ago when...there was a disagreement regarding my personal space ('space' attached to me, shall we say?) and my new boss- stress got out of control for a long time.

Finally my doc put me on a tiny amount of beta blockers (normally blood pressure med) that wouldn't affect blood pressure, but blocked negative effects of sustained stress.

Also, hubby is diabetic and I'm neurotic about learning as much as possible on it because my whole family is type II and I know it will hit me and kids someday- have you read much about Symlin?

The pharmas are getting into the helper hormones, not just the insulin- and it's interesting to note how they work- not that you need to change what you're doing, just to learn all the new stuff about how the system works. For instance, the stress plays havoc with your liver, so avoiding acetaminophen and using ibuprofen can affect how much glycogen is kicked out by your liver, etc.

And hikerchick is sooooooooooo on the money!!! Yoga helps!!

I was on Symlin for a bit, a while back. I should call and make an appointment with my doctor again. I only saw him a couple months ago... lol
It helped minutely for me, but anything is better than nothing. the loss of appetite is not good for me. I'll lose weight again. Ohhh boy!
I'll look anemic and need to answer concerned questions from everyone .... and if I meditate much more I'll be comatose ..lol

I get stressed out easily. I have never tried Yoga but I know a horse ride will relieve stress instantly for me.....

Just hang in there and report back to BYC for support
