String on my chicks bum

Hi, I need some help, I have a chick with wht looks like cotton stuck to its bum, I thought it was fluff so pulled slightly but it immediately stuck so I let go, what could it be ?? I darnt try it again, it's about half an inch long, like white cotton.

or dried poop...can you get a warm cloth and try to wet it...gently rub it off?

It's not bloody or anything, literally looks like abit of cotton stuck, it had no issues at hatching and I haven't noticed it before, they hatched on Tuesday. Will try and post a picture tomorrow.
