Oops. I was re-reading this thread. Quick correction: Thy actually are 28 and 29 weeks old. Anyway they still are fully grown.

Yikes! Deep all day shade, huge ice chunks, and an occasional dose of electrolytes are the best heat busters I know of.During summer it can go up to the hundreds or more. When they were babies, I kept a fan in their coop and I put ice in their water.
Got down to -22 here last winter. Chickens were out in their run eating and drinking and acting just like chickens. Heat can be harder on chickens than some cold weather.Does anyone know how cold a chicken can get before they freeze to death?
