Hey all!
Perkin the pekin has been broody for 2 months now and she will not give up,currently I have to lock the entire coop to stop her from sitting though this means none of the others can get in.what should I do?

You could just let her sit. She will probably give up eventually (but that might takes more weeks or months.)

You could buy some chicks for her to adopt (many hens will adopt chicks, some will not. If you do not want chicks at this time, of course you will not want to do this.)

You could put her in a separate pen. Sometimes that makes a hen quit being broody, while other times she just continues sitting in the new place. But it does get her out of the way so the other hens can lay their eggs in peace.

You could put her in a broody breaker crate. That is typically a wire dog crate or wire rabbit cage. The idea is that she has a wire floor and no nesting material, so she should quit being broody within less than a week. (Provide food & water, and it is OK for her to have a perch as well. Just no solid floor or nesting material.) It can be in the coop or run, or any other safe place you have available.

The broody breaker crate is probably the fastest, most certain way to break her broodiness.
