Pithing, right? I wouldn't bother changing, then. Seems like a solid method and definitely disrupts brain function.
Well, I have been out of this picture for so long, I want to see what other people do. If is is less trouble or stress for the bird I am interested it trying it.

I can check around for some studies on pithing, if you're interested? It's one method I haven't looked into much.

That is what it is called now, I believe. We just called it killing! I am interested to see if it is obsolete now, new and better things seem to be everywhere!
 
I have not killed a bird in about 20 years. Only Parrots since 1989! Just counted, make that 30 years!
