I have a 3-4 week old polish who isn’t growing at all. I had 3 chicks and I believe they got brooder pneumonia and 2 passed about 2 weeks ago. The survivor is growing wing feathers but not growing in sizes I got some friends for it on Christmas. I’m feeeding scrambled eggs and electrolytes is there anything more to do ?

Why?

Can't you source any chick crumb?

It needs chick starter crumbles. Stop the scrambled eggs and give it proper chick food or it won’t develop properly.

Oh it also gets lots of chick crumbles. The electrolytes and scrambled eggs are in addition to a normal diet.

Ok, but still not necessary. Right now the only thing offered should be the chick crumble. It is fortified with the vitamins and minerals they need to develop properly. If they are eating scrambled eggs also, they won’t eat as much of their food. Treats like scrambled eggs really shouldn’t be introduced until they are at natural foraging age, at which point they will need chick grit as well. But even as they mature, treats should be in serious moderation if you want healthy, egg laying birds.

I have seen information saying it’s good for chicks who are having trouble growing is this an old wives tale? I actually wet the egg with some of the sav-a-chick to add more vitamins to it and then mash chick crumble into it. I’ve been offering that once a day. I’m very worried about the little one being out grown by the other chicks soon. They eat together and there’s no bullying so far.
