I wholeheartedly agree. I have very thin, stark straight hair. I started cutting it very short with clippers and I loved the look. One of my doctors said "Well you aren't going to do THAT again." I told him I certainly would, I loved it.
My sister told me everyone would think I was gay. Her hair is as short as mine but, she pays to have her hair cut at some fancy place while I trim my own off (used to be a dog groomer).I'm amused that people think a hair cut changes your gender.
This year I let my hair grow out for the summer because I have to be very careful about sunburn. I usually wear a wide brimmed hat for that purpose but, can't on very windy days.
One of the ladies on the senior bus looked me over and remarked "Oh good you let your hair grow. Now you don't look like a little boy anymore." Was going to

but didn't. I wanted to tell her men never thought I looked like a little boy.
Also I just bought some fleece lined flannel shirts (LLBean) . I bought one in men's size M. and one in women's L . The men's had very nice, soft, flannel, deep pockets with flannel lining. The women's style had stiff feeling flannel, unlined pockets. I returned the women's shirt and ordered a second men's style for me.
I have never had an hour glass figure, "the sands of time" collected at the waist and stuck there.Men's sizes give me room to button up a shirt without any gaps between the buttons.
I am a senior and have a son., so does Elton John. Mine came via my cesarian section.Who cares. We are both parents.
BYW I've never been married. No one ever asked me. I asked two guys and neither one answered. So there is that!
