My dumb cluck RIR pullet has been flogging the neighbors' dogs through the picket fence that separates our properties. The fence is on an 18-24" retaining wall, so the dog is a bit higher up than the chooks. Said fence is o-l-d.
None of my birds are afraid of the dogs, and run over to look at them when the dogs are out. The Weimereiner-greyhound mix is a young dog, and especially excited by the chickens (these are brand new neighbors).
I witnessed my dummy RIR trying to flog the weimer-mix through the fence! She jumps up at the dog's muzzle, pecks at it, and has been trying to hit the muzzle with her claws.

Today I'm going to go out there with DBF's compressor, staples, and chicken wire to prevent the muzzle from being a potential target and the chicken from losing her head.
Though, as it might seem from her "intelligence", she may not need her head.

Dumb bird.
