Stupid cat! HELP!

Quote:

I DID grow up on a farm, and continue to live on one now, and I wouldnt shoot it either. My father was an animal loving cattle farmer, and would NEVER have shot something he couldnt humanely run off or protected against. Cats, and other small verment were caught in traps and released far away form the animals, and coyotes and porcupines were scared off by the four great pyr. dogs he kept. The only time we shot something was when it was suffering.

I agree with trapping it. Though, I would lock your little dogs up until you catch your cat.

please... NEVER release a predator "far away"... you never know what's 1,2, 10 mls from that point.... it could be the territory of another predator or worse, somebody else's farm with their own sets of animals/ pets. How would you like it if I dumped all my captured predators at your doorstep.

I was reffering primarily to the porcupine that would get the dogs every other **** week. Besides, if we released them "far away" and it turned out to be on someone else's land (which it never was) that person is probably like all of you, and would probably just shoot it. Right? No biggie. Keeps the blood off our hands.

We only ever moved them away form our cattle/dogs, onto other parts of our property with roads and ravines dividing them.

I love animals too... but the safety and well being of MY animals which I CHOSE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILTY OF ....and they are depended on me, in MY PROPERTY unfortunately trumps those of roaming predators.

I suppose. I apologize, I just stand up for animals all the time. sorry

I used my live trap for the first time last night and caught the biggest, meanest, peskiest, old tom cat that has been harrasing our girls! He was feral, but I was able to relocate him as a potential mouser.

Also relocating animals can spread disease (also in some case illegal), people feed coons here (also illegal) ... makes problems for me, my animals legally confined to my property... local ACAC 'takes care' of them (live trap then euthanasia by the county vet)... people trying to be nice- cause harm and the end result is a dead animal, dead because it no longer fears humans and no longer has natural habits.

Paintball gun does wonders at keeping cats out of your yard. The strays around here see me from a half a block away and go running as fast as they can.

actually it does if they did prey on one of their animals... but I guess "people like all of us" value their animals life more.

Please do your own dirty work, I know it's not pleasant but don't make it somebody else's problem.

Trap it.Release whatever you don't want that gets caught up in it.Some have caught their own chickens, lol. No biggie. I have only seen coons harm themselves trying to escape a live trap.
