The point of the tower is to hopefully transfer their affections from the antique chair they have recently decided to "love". They are tearing it up. My mother will KILL me if they continue to do so. There is no cat free zone in the house to move the chair to so the plan was to get something more attractive for them to work their claws on. The tower is cheaper than the family therapy needed if my mother finds out that my cats have torn up this chair.
If this doesn't work I'll have to move the chair to the attic and I kind of need it for people to sit on in the den.
We are sniffing it suspiciously now. I consider that progress. I think tomorrow I might rub it with fresh catnip and see if that helps.
Our favorite toy is actually twist ties. I quit buying real cat toys a while ago. The brats just ignore them. Twist ties and chicken feathers. That's what we love. And boxes apparently.
