Stupid cats. Explain to me why **UPDATE w/ pics!

Cats aren't stupid------they managed to enslave nearly the whole human race. They got you spending your effort and money to try and please them, huh? Special foods, special clothes, special medicines, special toys, lavish accoutrements---sounds like a Dark Overlord.

Psh, cat towers.

I don't spoil my pets...

My cat just has a few clothes...oh, and the dog has boots...

Love the Simon's cat where the cat wakes up Simon to feed him.

I bet yours cats will come to love the tower! Mine likes all kinds of toys but adores his blinky mouse and knotted socks to toss around and attack. Nobody walks around with sock feet in the house that's for sure.

No toy is better than a laser light. The cats are absolutely hysterical when DS gets that out! As soon as they even see it, before it's even turned on they are there and waiting. Except he uses DH's laser level. If DH ever actually tries to use it for what it's made for he'll be mobbed by the cats

I loved it when DS had the cats going nuts, one jumped for the light and landed in the dogs water dish.

And why do cats have to run to get in front of you when you are walking and then stop?

I have tons of unused cat toys laying around. I stopped buying them.

We store the GS's extra car seat in the office and that's their favorite place to hang out.

I feel your pain.

I spent $12 on a nice kitty hideaway, and my cats hide out in boxes. Right now, the kitty hideaway is in the living room, unused, and the kitten is in the box that arrived yesterday and sits in my kitchen. While we're discussing this, don't bother buying expensive toys. Bows, straws and foil balls work just fine. Q-tips as well.

Sounds like they finally got exactly what they wanted. A big box with noisy, stiff plastic straps. They were sending you mental images of a big box but you misunderstood about the contents. Good 'staff' knows it's all about the wrappings. Don't worry, you'll get better as time goes by.

Have you ever tried the lazer light on the chickens? I had a tiny little white Bantam roo named Biggs, that wouldn't let it on his feet. He would try to pick both feet up, holler, and be insane about it. I had to quit before I gave him a complex.

My youngest cat is just the opposite. She loves, loves, loves all her toys and especially her cat tree. She was dumped here when she was a kitten and didn't seem to know anything about toys, don't think she'd ever had one. Now she runs to me when I come home from the store so she can look in the bags to see if I brought her anything new. She scratches, climbs and even bites the living daylights out of her cat tree but doesn't touch my furniture.

I used to do that when I was little!
Except i made it into a fort and lobed plastic balls at passing unsuspecting parents...
Perhaps your cats are just doing something similar
