Awwwh …ohhhh…you guys are so cute. I am going to get a little couch for mine and put it out it in the kitchen….with a tiny TV. The cats will probably going to harrumph on this, but we are all family here.

Marysville In the House!!!
It's been a mess all day and THANK GOODNESS DH was willing to brave it to pick up my son from school. He went to check on the flock a few minutes ago and said they were so wet he couldn't tell them apart... I still got 3 eggs out of them tho. Seems like everyone in Marysville is taking a much needed sick day. It isn't the swine flu, but it's a heck of a virus going around.

I imagine tomorrow I won't get much though.

And yup, there still under the coop soaking wet. I even tried putting scratch in the coop for them, and they came right back out.

LOL I just came in from checking mine too and my silkie roo looks like a yorkie after a bath. My 15 week old pullets are all in the coop but my 3 laying hens and my adult leghorn roo are all outside looking mighty scrawny... I also noticed that I have a minor leak in my coop that DH will need to address.

My four were at the kitchen door all standing a row looking in at me. They were all wet and pitiful looking.

I got my rain gear on and went out to see how bad the coop was. It was surprisingly very dry. Although our rain has been light, it has been constant.

I called to the girls and pointed to the covered portion of the run. To my surprise, they all went in and I thought ...”You dummies, all you have to do is go in and you are OK." Then I went back in the house ....and then they all followed me back.

I went back out and locked them up for the night. I think they will be happier if they stay there and keep dry. I will sneak them some kind of a warm treat. Maybe some cooked oatmeal.

My chickens do the same type of things. I am sure that they are aware of the rain and how to get out of it. It is probably their overwelming need to follow you, their master and leader, over personal comfort.
