Stupid double-yolk question

So my 9 year old is telling me that we need to hatch out double yolk eggs so we can "get twins". Now I assume that you don't actually get twins from a double yolk, but I'm curious - are double yolkers viable? Does the chick just useboth yolks?

Go to youtube and search for twin chicks hatching. It does happen. It isn't the best.. but it will happen.

Oh wow. You learn something new everyday.
Well, mine aren't laying double-yolks anymore and my rooster lost a battle with a hummer, so I guess I won't be hatchign any time soon anyway. Sigh.
