Stupid Snow... Thank goodness for the Fireplace!!

Weather like this makes me want to run away to somewhere warmer!! Thermometer now reads -18 and the wind is howling! Even the horses are stomping their feet now. Poor animals, wish I could bring them inside.

Well it's still bloody cold this AM. It got down to 5F last night. Chickens and ducks were fine. Chickens water was frozen solid tho. Got them all fresh water, food, some greens and scratch. They have decided, however, that this snow/cold thing is highly over-rated and have all retired back into their respective coop/duck houses and said to wake them when it warms up and all that stupid white stuff is gone.

Not-a-one of my 24 chicks seemed to have suffered the freezing night; yeah!

It is a balmy 36 now. So at some point I need to go out and swap out the heat bulb for a CFL bulb. Tut tut it looks like rain again.
