I'm pretty sure you will have to have the thermostat or your bator will get too hot. Can't you get your dad to help you wire it?

I agree you def. need a thermostat. Otherwise it will cook the eggs. No matter what wattage you have.

77, looks like you've done a really good job building your styrobator!

The fan you can probably get by without, but, I do think you will have to have a thermostat of some kind. Otherwise, there is no way to regulate the temperature and it will just keep getting hotter and hotter 'til your eggs are sunny side up.

I bet if you show your Dad your new incubator and ask him nicely, he will be more than happy to help you put a thermostat inside.

In exchange, he might even want to borrow it sometime.

I also moved all the hardware from a styrofoam cooler to a "max cool" plastic cooler..

We tend to open up all the windows when the weather is cool enough..So there's definitly fluctuations on the house temps..
