Hatchery sourced Black Australorp, POL but not sure of exact age, was gifted to me from my sister, who was getting out of the chicken biz, along with 16 other hens of varying breeds and ages. I've only had her a short time, so not sure of her personality just yet, but she's living a fine life out on free range here on a quiet ridge top meadow in WV.
The BA breed variety are one of my all time favorite breeds and I'll never have a flock without including these stellar layers, industrious foragers, quirky personality, naturally hardy, laying and life longevity and just all around pleasant birds to have around. They are beautiful in every way and I recommend them to newbies and those wanting pets...these girls live a long, long time and lay well all year round each and every one of those years, not to mention their funny personalities.
ETA: Oops...don't have a My Chickens page, sorry. Guess you'll just have to settle for a pic right now.
