On the website, here is an example of how a breed/variety page will be formatted.

On BYC, the format will be just like that of most threads here.
Ok first of all eye color is reddish bay... :p
Second of all isn't putting direct quotes from the SOP copyright infringement? They charge a lot for the words in that book and make it pretty clear they don't want it copied. Pictures, I understand, but full standard descriptions? ;)

I figured the eye color was wrong but went off the site.
Is it copyright infringement if I cite my sources? This standard didn't even come from an APA/ABA site or a breed club page. I can rewrite each standard in my own words but a standard is a standard. It can only be reworded so much.

:idunno I'm not a plagiarism expert.
I thought you were putting pictures for each breed and then adding what varieties they came in and in what class, because you can't figure out what class breeds are in in a lot of sources so you can cite your information and it's frustrating!
(I like adding in links so people know I am creditable and they can read more.)

No. I stated in the 1st post that I am posting the standards as well as varieties/class :)
I have included links so far to where I got the info I'm using. If you look at the very bottom of the last screenshot, you should see that :D
I will go through, anyhow, and rework each standard as much as I possibly can to avoid upsetting anyone. That's going to add a lot of time to the project so publishing could be very delayed.

Splash Wheat Ameraucana Bantam, 2nd pic is Blue Wheaten Ameraucana Bantam, it was hard to get a good picture of them.

I'd actually contact the APA and ABA and ask. I think breed clubs have to get special permission to reprint the Standards, or else they'd probably be more available than they are. Reason being, if it was all available easily online, no one would buy the book.

I guess think of it this way, if an author gives a website special permission to print part of their book on their page, then only that website has the permission. If you then copied that text and put in on your own website, even if you cited the website you got it from, you still don't have the content owner's permission to have it on your site, and that could be copyright infringement.

Oh, shoot, I never saw an alert for this! I'm sorry for not seeing this sooner! Here are the APA / ABA recognized ones from the Ohio Nationals this past weekend:

Fantastic!
If you can dig those up, that would be great! Side pictures are not required; they are only preferred if possible. The main goal here is to at least present some of the colors of a variety.

EDIT: Since side pictures aren't required, here's a better shot of a Lemon Blue's face--not the same bird, but all the information is the same:

Pretty sure I have more somewhere... I'll have to look around for them.

Oh, and here are just a couple of my birds:

Breed: Old English Game
Bantam or Standard: bantam
Variety: Fawn Silver Duckwing
Age: 2 years
Gender: Male
Winston.jpg

My hen of the same variety is molting, so no good pictures of her. :hmm (That's her underneath Winston in this picture, though :p )

Breed: Dorking
Bantam or Standard: large fowl
Variety: Red
Age: About 1 1/2 years
Gender: female

The rest of my birds are either hatchery quality or I've watermarked the pictures, so I just left them out. :)
