Having a problem with the subscription to thread updates in that they've stopped coming in for a few days now. They used to come through hours later and out of order, even though I had them set to immediate.

My iPad is not compatible with the text editor, but that Is a minor issue at this point.

We haven't received any other reports, but we'll keep an eye on it. Have you checked your spam filter / folder?

Some email systems are notorious for blocking legit email. For example, AOL is one of the worst offenders.

Yes, Rob. The first place I looked was the spam folder. I have had AOL do strange things in the past so I would not be surprised if that was the case. I did not get an update for this thread either. I may try using another email account from other than AOL to see if it works with that. I'm going into my BYC account now and see if I can do that.

You were right, Rob. AOL was the problem. The updates are coming in now. Apparantly, AOL is blocking the emails from BYC. They are not even showing up in the spam folder. Gmail works just fine.

If anyone else is having problems, set up a gmail account, then, have the emails forwarded to your AOL account. You still will be able to use your AOL, which you've probably had for years, to read your mail.

I'm so used to my AOL email that I've had since the dawn of time I just can't seem to let go. Thanks again for the suggestion, Rob.

Thanks Al. We don't want to have people change their email addresses (even if IMO AOL is sub-par provider) so we're doing all we can to troubleshoot and help resolve email delivery issues. The problem is, so much of the control is on AOL's side and there isn't much we can do. I wonder if there is a way for their users to contact them and say, "Please add BackYardChickens.com to your whitelist so their emails get through!"

Rob, I sent AOL a request to add BYC to the whitelist. They said they will get back to me within 24 hours with an answer.

I do know others have told me they had the same, or similar, problems. I will ask if they have AOL, and if so, suggest they send feedback to AOL.

Will let you know what they say.

Rob, this is what they sent to me in response. I'm sure you've done all this before, but I'm passing it on for you to see.

Subject: Re: AOL Mail Support Help Request <<#1760378-1270837#>>

Dear Member,

Thank you for contacting AOL Email Support.

I am afraid that this can only be resolved if the email administrator       for Backyardchickens.com contacts AOL's PostMaster via a support request       ticket. The PostMaster is the one who supports these specific concerns.

Please ask them to open a ticket here:
          http://postmaster.aol.com/SupportRequest.php
They need to leave as much information as possible.
