Also worth noting...again totally guessing here about it being fatty liver.

My brain focused in on that line when I read the article, because of the shell-less eggs when she was younger.

Just a guess but something worth noting:

"Likewise, feeding rancid fat can cause liver hemorrhage, again without fat accumulation."

I don't compost so I am unsure if there is rancid food in a compost pile or not.

there shouldn't be.. . compost should only contain vegetable/fruit scraps, and perhaps eggshells and/or coffee grinds, but nothing 'animal' (like meat, fat, or bone) I think most composters know that.

Great article. I read "Diagnosis," and there's a lesson in basically how to do your own necropsy, at least for detecting liver ailments.
