Sudden death-heart attack?

Our 10 month old rooster died yesterday from no apparent reason. Completely healthy and active. No signs or symptoms of anything. Our 10 hens are doing great. Could this be a heart attack. I'm still pretty new to this. Thanks for any input.

What kind of rooster?

Is it possible he got hold of some rat poison or stale feed?

Yes, it could be a heart attack. From what I understand, chickens are very prone to heart problems. I know I've lost a couple of older ones to a heart attack and a couple to congestive heart failure (they show more symptoms for a longer period of time with that).

I had a 10 mo. old hen die for no apparent reason. No symptoms etc. and it bothered me so bad that I took her body to the vet for necropsy. She bled to death from a ruptured tumor on her spleen. Without necropsy you will never no what happens. I had to know..... Sorry for the loss of your roo.
