We've had 2 chicken die recently. 2 more are not well.
They are 3 years old.

1. Labored breathing
2. Isolation from others
3. Lack of interest in eating.
4. Still laying eggs
5. Sit and doesn't walk around.

I have a video and am going to add it below.

What is wrong with our hens?

One by one this is happening. They go on for a few weeks like this. Then die.

Heres the 2 thst are sick now.

It could be any number of things. Which is why anytime you have a sudden die-off of multiple chickens you should put the next chicken that dies immediately into a plastic bag, then put the bagged body into the fridge and call your state agricultural lab for instructions on how to send it off for a necropsy.

You make it sound so serious. Now I'm worried 😟 even more. I'm sad this is happening

Hi, sorry to hear of your troubles, have you given your girls a thorough once over, checking for bugs or any other issues?

Are their heads droopy or upright?

Do you have them isolated from your healthy girls? If not, I would as soon as possible, until you can pinpoint the problem.

What's their diet, is it hot?
Any chance they could have double anything molding or toxic?
The weather has gradually gotten warm although not hot. Just 78 or 80. (California) they free range in the yard most of the day. We have feed and water available to them. Their food isn't moldy. We keep it in buckets. We do have dogs. Could the dog poop do it? We do our best to clean it up daily.

What type of feed? A purple comb means something is going on with her circulation or breathing?
