Sudden Death [Update] - Coughing and Heavy Breathing

Pics
We received the necropsy report for Piglet today, and we have authorized all additional tests.

Unfortunately, we are now concerned about Mouse as well, although we are not assuming the issue is the same as Piglet's yet undiagnosed issue. We have a appointment with the vet at 3 pm today for Mouse, and we'll update then.

Thanks again for all your support. Here is the necropsy report in full as we received it this morning:

What's going on with Mouse @3bird
Mouse was laying down yesterday when everyone was out, and she appeared to be breathing hard at times (which obviously worried us, as that is how Piglet presented). Nonethless, she was not breathing as hard and not always. She was also up and eating and drinking regularly, and she went on a foraging excursion with the flock in the evening (although she was moving slower).

I was making a video of her behavior to share, and "boom," she laid a very soft egg with a tail-like growth. We've seen maybe one of these before (and a handful of just soft or broken ones over the past months). We had noticed only two eggs that morning for the first time ever (we've been down to three eggs/day with Martha and Stella being broody). Once Mouse passed her egg last night, she immediately bounced back, moved faster, ate well, drank, etc.

This morning she was again a little slow and electing to sit more than normal. Again, we only had two eggs this morning. We called the vet, and she said she wanted to see Mouse today, so we're off at three.

My Runner did that about a month ago acting the same way when I went to check on her she was off laying by herself when I walked up she got up and there was a big soft shell egg laying there after she laid she was again with her group and acting normal
