These are our first ducks (well since I was a kid), so I don't know what that might look like. Is rapid onset normal for pneumonia or sinus infection? This all transpired in less than 24 hours. Aspiration seems more plausible, but I don't know how it would have happened. Someone had mentioned worms--is that a possibility?

Worms don't kill that fast either...Birds do hide illness ..ticks?

We've seen more dog than deer ticks so far this year. We've seen them on ourselves and on the cats. I've never seen a tick on one of the ducks, but I also have not looked closely.

What about those black flies everyone talks about that are so awful? Do ya'll have those? Of course we can guess all day,just hope the vet can give you some answers.
