Hello I need some help with a diagnosis...any help or advice would be appreciated!!
One of my hen's just suddenly died...I just separated her with the flock, had duramyacin ready to go in a water for her and boom she's dead! In fact, after I separated her I came in here to join this site (I've been on it before with a different user and was very happy with this site) and post a thread about it and when I went outside to take a picture she was dead.
She was a Dominique hen, around three or so, and over the last few days I noticed she wasn't herself...
Her symptoms include:
-gurgling EVERY time she breathed, also spitting and coughing occasionally
-when she drooled it was a bright yellow greenish color
-she didn't feel light, or skinny but not heavy either (will go test out if needed)
-I noticed that when I tried to hold her to see if she had worms in her throat or anything strange, her face decolored super quickly into a mulberry color
-She was standing fluffed up in a corner of the coop, refusing to roost
-Her face remained mulberry colored until her death, very shortly after I held her to see what was going on
-saw a substance at the back of her throat
-she was also I believe the egg eater of the flock (idk if that helps)
I haven't noticed any symptoms in any of the other birds, but am worried that the nostalgia I am feeling is right -a few years ago we had a outbreak in the flock, birds wilted quickly, seemingly in a never ending molt and they spit and got mulberry colored combs
I recently had chicks have cocci but its been treated and the chicken shared no common symptoms with it... For some reason I feel like it matches a disease I've read about...
Sorry for blabbing
I just hope this helps sort this out
Any advice is appreciated!!thanksssss
