sudden leg weakness in young rooster.. HELP

I would worm him with the ivomectrian wormer since no other seems to be available. If you can only get paste, then I'd give about half a pea size drop in his beak. If you can get cattle pour on or injectable ivomectrian , then you can apply 1/4 cc to the skin. The poo stuck to his butt is probably due to his poo consistency as well as him laying a lot. Good that he is eating and drinking. Good that he can get up with a little help. Something is making him weak, I am thinking it is a heavy worm load. You can take a stool sample to the vet and see if they will run a fecal on it to see what you may be dealing with. They shouldn't charge a lot for a fecal..... But it depends on the vet.

Today he is certainly weaker... not able to stand as well. though this morning he was on his feet for awhile. walked around a bit. I just offered him some scrambled egg.... not interested... I will get some of the paste as that may be my only option and try to get him to take it. He is still drinking at least...

So, I know this thread is pretty old but what happened to the rooster? My rooster, just this morning, started acting like this and I am going to borrow some wormer from a friend, but I want to make sure I am doing everything I can.

I have a 10 week old cockerel who has come down with these same symptoms. Is there any closure to this thread?

My 5 mo old hen is doing the same thing! I have been everywhere and there don't seem to be any answers, just threads that drop off..... any help is greatly appreciated! My hen is a twin and her sister is really depressed without her.

I have given my cockerel a vitamin supplement in his water, and a dewormer. I also am giving him yogurt for additional probiotics. From what I've read, it seems to be either a vitamin defieciency or a parasite issue. Unless it is something more serious and untreatable by me . This is what I'm trying at the moment.
I will keep this updated.

I am having the same problem with my young rooster. He has trouble standing and can only walk a little. Sometimes not at all.
