Hello my chicken people!
Today we noticed that Silma (a 16 week old girl) has been super sluggish and hasnt moved much at all today. Yesterday she appeared to be normal. It has been in the mid 80s consistently now and nothing has changed food or water wise. I have checked on her a few times today and she is awake when I check on her. We gave her some Poultry Gatorade to give her a boost and put her by their water container so she doesnt have to go far for water. After putting her down she was a bit wobbly.
Any thoughts on what might of happened over night?

What do her droppings look like? With lethargy it can be many things but at this age coccidiosis is always a possibility. Corid is the treatment and is safe even if it's something else, so if that is suspected I would go ahead and treat.

I posted a picture for ya!
We seperated her from the others for tonight to see if she gets better. Her eyes appear clear and her comb normal colored. Its just so weird cause she was running around normal yesterday.

That dropping looks mucousy, so I would go ahead and start Corid. Better safe than sorry.
Use the severe outbreak dosing:

Absolutely second this. I lost a few with these exact symptoms, before I discovered Corid. And still, even with proper dosing I wasn’t always successful.

We lost her 😔
We cleaned their water container and started the other girls on Corid this morning. The others appear to be acting normal this morning when let out.
Could this kill a chicken in a span of a day? She was running around normal on Saturday, then sluggish Sunday and then passed Sunday night. So odd and sad, she was one of my favorites.

Thank you. We lost her last night, but started the other girls on it this morning. Gosh, I dont want this to wipe out my flock.....

Yes, it can kill quickly. There are different strains, some are more virulent than others, and individual immune systems vary. It's always best to start treatment as soon as possible when it's suspected so that damage to the digestive tract can be minimized. It's unfortunately always a risk with chicks and young birds. Those that recover will have some resistance to whatever strain(s) they have been exposed to. I'm so sorry you lost her. :hugs

We started the other girls on Corid, so hopefully we caught it before the other girls got to her point
